July 14, 2000 - GalleryWatch.com announces acquisition of USBudget.com
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
(WASHINGTON, D.C., July 14, 2000) – GalleryWatch.com, an online legislative and agency tracking and information service, today announced that it has acquired usbudget.com, an online provider of United States budget content and analysis. The agreement follows a January partnership between the two companies making usbudget.com appropriations and budget content available to GalleryWatch.com clients. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
“This acquisition ensures that GalleryWatch.com clients will have access to the best budget and appropriations content information on the market,” said GalleryWatch.com President Brent Golemon. “We can now offer our subscribers enhanced information relating to the budget and appropriations through usbudget.com’s line item analysis and commentary.”
George Krumbhaar, founder and president of usbudget.com, will now serve as managing editor. “In only five years, usbudget.com has become one of the premier sources for federal budget and appropriations information,” said Mr. Krumbhaar. “The technology that GalleryWatch.com brings will further enhance the service usbudget.com has provided in the past. The two services complement each other and promise to make an even better source for budget information. I am pleased to be part of this innovative endeavor.”
Mr. Krumbhaar has covered budget, appropriations and tax legislation as Minority (Republican) Counsel to the Joint Economic Committee, as Director of Domestic Policy for Sen. John Glenn and as Chief of Staff for Rep. Bill Orton. He has 18 years of capitol experience.
“Five years ago, we saw the need for more in-depth coverage of the budget and appropriations processes,” said Mr. Krumbhaar. “We combined nearly two decades of experience working with those processes on Capitol Hill with information from our clients about what information they want and need relating to budget and appropriations. Now as a service of GalleryWatch.com, we will take advantage of outstanding customer support and the latest in technology to ensure clients continue to receive the best service available.”
“The addition of George to our staff and usbudget.com to our legislative information and tracking service strengthens our goal of providing the best service on the market,” said Mr. Golemon. “George brings a veteran’s perspective of the budget to our service that we are confident will make our services unparalleled.”
