October 12, 1999 - Three added to growing GalleryWatch.com team

WASHINGTON, D.C., Oct. 12, 1999) – GalleryWatch.com, Washington D.C.’s newest online legislative and agency tracking and information service, announces the addition of three new employees to its experienced and professional staff.

GalleryWatch.com named Russell W. (Rusty) Roddy as Director of Marketing and Special Projects, Judith (Judi) Merriman as Director of Operations, and Steve Watson as House Manager.

“The success of our company is directly related to the caliber of our personnel,” said GalleryWatch.com President Brent Golemon. “We are confident the addition of Rusty, Judi and Steve will not only help ensure the success of our company, but also ensure the integrity of the services and information we provide our clients.”

Mr. Roddy brings extensive legislative experience to GalleryWatch.com. He began his career in the nation’s capital at the Republican National Committee. He later served as a Presidential Appointee in the Reagan and Bush administrations, first at the U.S. Department of the Interior and then at the U.S. Department of Energy. He worked for The Donnelly Group, a government relations firm, before serving as Deputy Director of Fundraising in a Nebraska U.S. Senate race. In 1995 and 1996, he worked for the Dole-Kemp presidential campaign as Lead Advance Coordinator for Sen. Bob Dole and then for Elizabeth Dole. Prior to joining GalleryWatch.com, Roddy was a senior account executive for Avant Digital Marketing.

“The political world has always held a special attraction for me,” said Mr. Roddy, “and combining the political world with the ever-changing technological world is both intriguing and exciting. GalleryWatch.com is changing the way legislative professionals ‘view’ their work and ‘do’ their work and that was certainly something that drew me to the company.”

As House Manager, Mr. Watson will direct coverage of activities of the U.S. House of Representatives, including committee schedules and committee-related activities, witness testimony, amendments and mark-up schedules for bills. He began his legislative career as an intern and later as Legislative Correspondent and Systems Manager for Congressman Joe Barton’s Washington, D.C., office.

“With its creativity and innovative ideas, GalleryWatch.com brings the highest quality legislative and agency tracking and information service to legislative professionals,” said Mr. Watson. “I was attracted to being a part of a company that is reinventing the business.”

Ms. Merriman comes to GalleryWatch.com after 12 years at LEGI-SLATE, Inc., a Washington Post subsidiary that provided federal legislative and regulatory information services. She began her career there as a part-time legislative analyst and then graduated to supervisor of the Congressional Record Division and then to manager of the Legislative Department. She will supervise the staff and daily office operations for GalleryWatch.com.

“This is a perfect match,” said Ms. Merriman. “My knowledge of the legislative process and the company’s use of the latest and most innovative technology will change the face of today’s legislative tracking service. It’s an exciting endeavor and I’m pleased to be part of the team.”
